Rui Soares, copywriter and award-winning Executive Creative Director.
In 1995, Rui was just turning 21 years old when he started his career at Ogilvy & Mather. He also worked as a copywriter in agencies such as FCB, BBDO, JWT, MSTF Partners, and since 2004 as Creative Director at JWT, HAVAS, ExcentricGREY, Y&R, TODOS Creative Hub and TAILORS Advertising - a creative boutique he founded with two friends.
Rui loves advertising, but above all, he just loves to create. Everyday he tries to learn with the best, and whenever he has the chance, he tries to put to work all that he has learned with all those amazing people. The result: he ended up shooting some of his own ideas - film and photo. It’s half work, half fun.
He has worked with many national and international brands, from very different areas, such as Telecom: Vodafone, Meo, TMN, Optimus, Oni, Samsung. Banking: BPI, BES. Automotive: Volvo, Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi. Retailing: Intermarché, Modelo. Beverages: Compal, Sagres, Lipton, Sumol, Delta. Publishing & Media: Público, Diário de Notícias, Sport TV. Other: Nestlé, Galp, Yellow Pages, Salvation Army, EuroMillions among many others.
He has won several national and international awards: Cannes Lions (1 Gold + 7 Shortlist), Clio Awards (2 Bronze), Eurobest (1 Silver + 1 bronze + 12 Shortlists), The New York Festivals (2 Silver + 3 Bronze), El Sol (2 Bronze), Portuguese Creative Club (5 Gold + 8 Silver + 9 Bronze + 16 Shortlists), London Advertising Awards, Epica, El Ojo, Cresta, One Show, D&AD, among others.
